THE FORGET ME NOT :

There are various and competing stories in regards to this symbol's origin.

However, everyone agrees that this is the masonic symbol of tolerance, anti-discrimination, and remembrance of those who died in World War II.
Freemasonry was outlawed by the Nazi regime. Today this unique pin is worn as a symbol of remembrance of persecution and the value of our freedom.

Please note that timelines and details of the events that occured differ by different historians. It is not likely the pins were worn in concentration camps as all jewelry was confiscated.

However, paraphrased from the insert with this lapel pin:
"In 1934, soon after Hitler's rise to power, it became evident that Freemasonry was in grave danger. Realizing this danger, the Freemasons went undercover and adopted a little blue flower, the forget-me-not, to replace the Square and Compasses as the symbol whereby brethren could identify each other. In 1948, when lodges reopened following World War II, this became the official Masonic emblem of remembrance.
